Introducing the world's first natural air purifier that uses algae to clean the air we breathe. The aerium removes carbon dioxide and produces oxygen as effectively as 25 house plants for a fraction of the cost, time, and space. Additionally, it filters out allergens from the air such as dust, pollen, and bacteria. This product works synergistically with your home garden as the algae can be used as an all-natural organic fertilizer for your plants.
To ensure that your algae are growing as efficiently as possible, we offer a subscription service (sold separately) that provides fresh algae, algae food, and replacement air filters to ensure the system is low maintenance and easy to use. The subscription is based on your unique growing cycle, and should be changed every 1-2 months. We provide you with the first shipment of algae gratis so you can get started with your aerium as soon as possible!

Efficacy: Using a continuous CO2 monitor (IQAir AirVisual), the AlgenAir seems to shave off 50-100ppm off my daily peak indoor CO2 readings (750ppm down to 650ppm) — this likely will vary depending on room size and occupancy, but it’s what I got for a small room with one occupant and a minor bit of natural ventilation. Better than a few plants but still not at the levels needed for serious CO2 clearance.
Noise: The pump in this product does generate a noticeable amount of noise (and vibration). The majority of the noise seems to come from the tank vibrating against the base, so this seems like something that could be improved at the design level (using some intermediate dampening material between the two objects, and possible also otherwise isolating the pump from the base enclosure). Noise levels aren’t terrible but probably distracting in a quiet bedroom. The vibration is significant and can be felt on the table it sits on.
PM2.5: My PM2.5 values actually increased significantly after installing this unit. I guess some sort of algae or algae-byproduct gets released into the air? The included filter got wet and probably rendered ineffective despite following instructions on water levels. I think they should include an extra filter or two to work around this issue. My other air filter I already had can keep up with the generated particulate matter so it’s not a big issue (especially because it’s probably not very harmful particles), but of-note.
Overall: In the end, this does reduce CO2 levels more than any plant could, and none of the minuses are deal breakers for me, so I consider it a decent purchase. That said, I think they could make some product improvements. In addition, I’d ideally like another two of them to really get CO2 levels to the desired mark, but then purchasing the algae regularly becomes a notable cost, and the noise would really be annoying, so that’s hard to do at this point. Maybe some bulk algae purchasing discount and/or general price cut there would be nice. Or maybe just a larger product in the first place (aquarium-size? lol).
Bought this for the bedroom. Very easy to setup, looks really cool, and can't wait for the algae to grow
It's pretty cool having a green lamp. It got pretty thick over the course of a few weeks.
I got this as an air filter for my small office. I keep it on a sunny windowsill in Arizona. It makes my office feel much better, people ask about it, i explain that the reason they feel better is that i am simulating 25 houseplants via algae.
It makes my office ‘vibe’ with a different energy.
I have purchased a 2nd for my home, excited!
If it broke, i would buy it again.
